Hey guys I am new to the Frontier so I need help. I have a 2000 single cab with the 4 cylinder. I was driving into work when half way thru my drive it suddenly lost power. I got it back home and went thru the normal fixes, new plugs, new plug wires and new distributor cap. No change....could it have jumped a tooth on the timing belt or the distributor? This is the first distributor vehicle and nissan so any help would be great....Also while at work I ran a obd check and I was getting misfire code....

Possible either way, though I've never heard of the timing
chain on the KA skipping. I remember my 02 all of sudden
shutting off one day and wouldn't restart, ended up being a
bad distributor. It's a hard one to say. Hopefully
frontierguy will be along. He's our resident Nissan tech
and could give you a better idea.

Remove the plate in the dist. and check for any dust or
debris, if present, carefully blow out with compressed air(
don't lose the spring contact for the coil). Replace the
fuel filter, clean the MAFS(hopefully you are using a
Genuine Nissan air filter and Genuine dist cap).
