Tire question for you guys. I'm about to replace the original tires on my 07 crew cab SE and I wanted to know if you have any suggestions. The stock tires were BF Goodrich Long Trail T/A. They've been excellent. I'm at 74K and they've performed well in snow, ice and on long highway trips. I've narrowed the replacements down to three: the same kind, the BF Goodrich Rugged T/A's, or the Michelin LTX. thoughts?

I replaced my OE tires with the Cooper Discoverer CST (?). VERY quiet, good snow traction and they are wearing just great. ALl the Goodrich Rugged Trails I have seen wear quickly and I don't know that you would be happy.

Did I read that correctly?? 74K on the original tires?? I
got about 25K out of the original TA's! Got another set by
removing spare tires(new) from used trucks when I was doing
used vehicle checks for the lot. I also run snow tires
during the winter months mounted on steel wheels. If that
is correct(74K), why change?

Good point Frontierguy...and I'm leaning towards not changing brands. Yeah you read that right: 74k after three winters in Alaska, one cross country trip (SC to Utah) and lots of camping/hunting trips that took me to semi-offroad conditions. The BG Goodrich Rugged Terrain and Rugged Trail are the top draft picks at this point.

I was looking at getting the Rugged Terrain T/A but ended
up getting Toyo Open Country AT2's. I love the AT2's so
far, as we just had about 10 in or new snow and they
performed great. Great traction 2 or 4 wheel drive.
Supposed to outlast the BFG's as well, with 65,000 warranty
too.
If you do go BFG, get the rugged TERRAIN, not the rugged
trail TA's. I had a set of the trails and the wear was
terrible.

I want to second the poster allanh's satisfaction with
his 74K miles on the BF Goodrich Long Trail T/A original
tires.
I bought a new 2011 Crew Cab in August, 2011. I am at
25,000 miles of daily suburban commutes with highway
miles on the weekend to our country place. No snow in the
Houston area, but enough wet weather and some trailer
towing.
The wear on the BF Goodrich Long Trail T/A's is hardly
noticeable, hardly at all. I have no doubt that I can get
to 74K with these tires, they perform GREAT in wet
weather, very satisfied with them !
