Well my beloved 1993 toyota pickup finally died on me 2 weeks ago, luckily I had been in the market searching for about a year and test driving basically everything.  Needless to say I was loyal to Toyota and had the 05 and up Tacoma basically locked in as my new vehicle.  So I test drove a few and liked them, I mean they are good trucks.  But I stumbled upon a one owner frontier with 9100 miles at a local dealership and took it for a drive...holy hell.

I cant explain it really, but these trucks are awesome; the 6 speed tranny Nissan put into this thing mated to that 4.0 beast of an engine is just as close to perfect as I encountered.  So, needless to say I was able to cut a good deal and am now a satisfied owner of a wicked nice truck.

It is honestly night and day difference from my old Yota, I think I may keep that and fix it up and turn it into a dedicated offroader.

Anyways, this truck is a blast to drive and I couldnt be happier.

Just ordered up an Extang Full Tilt tonneau cover and a factory fog light kit from nissan.  Im sure better gas mileage and looks will come from the cover, the locking tailgate is a nice option as well.

Anyways, Im interested in installing a CAI on it in the future and see that there are a few systems out there:  the NISMO product, INJEN product, K&N(2 models), Volant SYstem, AFE, and some other...AEM?

What I was wondering if there are any members here who were in the same place im in trying to decide on the proper intake system.  I read your review of air particulates/Flow rate and it was interesting to see the "pressure drop" vs. cleanliness..but anyways any help from a first hand account would be greatly appreciated?  Also, will the factory warrantee be voided by the addition of this intake system?

Thanks.

I would only use a dry application filter.  Filters that require oiling can gum up the MAF sensor and cause it to fail.
