Just purchased a 2010 Frontier SE V6 King Cab 4x4 in Radiant Silver. I love it, except I'm disappointed that Nissan apparently makes you buy up to the PRO-4X before they offer any type of security system. I don't like the normal noise-making car alarms, and would like an immobilizer system. The guy at the dealer's parts counter was pretty sure that the Nissan Vehicle Immobilizer System cannot be purchased and installed afterward. Does anyone know for sure, or have suggestions on what after-market system would be best. If an immobilizer system isn't feasible, then my next preference would be a pin switch type system that sounds an alarm only if the door is opened. Also curious if anyone knows why the Frontiers sold in Canada all have a security system standard, but they're not even an option in the US on models below the PRO-4X? Thanks.

that's Nissan being Nissan.

Adding a stock Nissan Immobilizer afterwards can be a little complicated. You need quite a bit parts and that will get real spendy. I would honestly go with an aftermarket unit. DEI makes really good systems (the company that designed and makes the viper alarm series)
