Used the forum for advice and general entertainment for awhile. Now I'd like to ask a few questions of my own and give any advice I can.

2001 Frontier V6 Supercharged
~110K
Not many modifications yet.
I purchased the vehicle about 18 months ago with 97K.

Interested in replacing the exhaust system (catback only).

Problems I'd like to figure out:
-Hard start (but has always started)
I've had a standard tune-up, run 93 octane, but I do see/smell gas vapor after starting engine both cold and hot.
-Poor gas milage
Sitting at about 12.5mpg, not sure if this is standard for the SC version. Most of my driving is highway with some stop-and-go situations.
-Lack of power and acceleration
Engine feels like it lags and has a difficult time producing power at low RPM's...very low torque at low RPM's. High RPM's engine and trans seem to be just fine, but the truck struggles in lower gears.
-Engine code : Evap Emission Control System Leak Detected (gross leak/no flow)

Work I've had done (or done myself):
-New tires/shocks
-Knock Sensor replaced
-evap emission control sensor replaced

If you have any advice, ideas, or input on any problems or solutions please let me know. I'll be scouring the forum for related posts, but I'd appreciate some help from the veterans.

Thanks,
Tim

..

Welcome to the group Tim!

The K&N filters have caused problems in a few of the Frontiers. The filters have been known to gum up the MAFS much faster than the stock Nissan filters. . You can find good MAFS spray cleaners at most parts supplyers.

If this doesn't help please repost in the tech forum.

Good Luck.. Don S..
