Hey,
Picked up a 2000 Crew Cab SE (4wd finally after years of FWD and compacts.) about two months ago @ 104,000 miles.  Timing belt, done..Manual Trans gear oil...done, Spark plugs...done (with OEM, thinking about replacing?).  A little whine coming from rear...Rear transfer? Never had one, wouldn't know, but I was thinking about replacing both tranfer cases' fluid.  Coming up on a new set of tires time, any suggestions?  I'll see if I can get some pics up soon.  Mine are way too many megapixels now.

Loving the truck.

Oh yea, muffler is looking a little worse for wear, OEM replacement $390 parts only? or aftermarket?

welcome to the forum, if you don't have the records on the truck, probably a good idea to change the fluids in the transfer case and diff fluids and tranny as well. tires would depends on how much off road vs on road driving you are gonna do, if you are gonna do a daily driver and not get too aggressive a good set of AT's from BFG or Goodyear would prolly do ya fine but others who wheel in their truck might be able to help you out more there, for that price on the muffler tho..might as well go aftermarket, can get a gibson cat back for less than that..or have someone build ya one with an aftermarket muffler for less others have said here

welcome again

Much appreciated.  Now at 117,000 and no major problems.  Switched out brake pads and fluids (good call, tranfer case was really low, and rear diff. was nasty).  Next up is just some tightening of suspension and regular maintaining.  Love the truck, hate the nissan dealer.  Prices are outrageous, so I'm learning to do it myself.  Alot of the things are easily accesible on the frontier (transfer case (except filling), differentials, oil, brakes.  So heck yea, get some

OEM replacement won't last very long, and is also restrictive.  Aftermarket will give you a nice tone, plus free up some HP, and if driven nicely, will give you a little boost in the MPG area.

Plus, you can actually pick up a FlowMaster Cat-Back system for less than that now a days.  Midas had qouted me $215 just for the system, not including labor and tax.  But that was on a Chevy Colorado, and about a year ago.
