Hello everyone. Just purchased a new base 08 Frontier. It does not have a factory stereo right now (just a black cover where the stereo normally is installed).

I am planning to add an aftermarket stereo. Does anyone know what the wiring/speaker situation is? Is the car prewired and ready to go? Are speakers already installed? If not, do you know what types of speakers I need to buy?

Any help will be appreciated. You will save me some time taking the dash and panels apart to see what's going on.

How did you buy a new one?? I dunno what baes means, maybe no extras like a radio?

First you need to find out how the truck was wired... im assuming since NO radio that it was not wired for the fosgate system.

See i have an 08 NISMO i just got, no rockford... so i have 1 wiring harness im getting.

With my 2002 i had the rockford package, basically what that does, is they have the factory harness feeding into a lil rockford amp and then a new set of wires comes off, which is why you need a diff kinda harness.

Try this out, this is what i just bought. I have factory single CD player, non rockford in my 08, it didnt come in yet but im assuming this is what you need, same as me:

What I meant by base is that it was the base model. Little to no options (hence no factory radio).

There were speakers installed and wired up. However although there was an antenna installed there was no antenna wire. I called a couple of dealers and confirmed that there wouldn't be an antenna wire (odd but true).

Anyhow, I ended up installing the deck with an aftermarket antenna.
