I need a new A/C compressor and there is about a $200.00 price difference between a new vs. a remanufactured compressor. Does anyone know if the remanufactured is dependable or would it just be a waste of money? Any thoughts on this issue?

A lot depends on how the reman was done. Were all parts replaced or just a few. Was it carefully done? How long is the warranty and does it include labor? Is the remanufacturer reputable? Sometimes it is better to pay the extra for new although today, you may not even know where these parts are made. I would review this carefully with the shop and make sure you understand all the ramifications. Ask for their experience with the the reman part. Have they had a lot of warranty issues?
