Hope you guys can give me some advice. I have a 2000 frontier I purchased last year with the knowledge that the a/c was out. I thought I would try to fix it on my own but need some advice. A/C clutch will not engage, but it will engage if currant is supplied to the proper relay terminal. relay tests out ok but no currant to relay. I have just put in a new tca switch in the plenum coil, still a no go. when I hot wire the clutch, for a short time, no cold air, but high pressure line gets to hot to touch in just a short time, 60 sec. Is there an other fuse or electrical component in the a/c circuit other than the ECM? Is there a minimum freon pressure switch that will not turn the currant to the clutch when no freon is present? I have the gauges but can not find psi numbers to fill the a/c line to see if it just needs some coolant. Any thoughts would be a Godsent as money is tight, and Utah is getting hot fast. Had to give my car to my dad for a while as he blew a timming belt and bent a valve. At 86 I hope i get my GTP back ok.
