2002 2.4 2wd, told by shop that did tranny work the clutch was worn, not worn out but worn. have 116000 on truck and i do believe its the original clutch. need to go to south carolina from california bout 2400 miles, pulling a bike on small trailer, clutch feels strong when i hit the gas with the emergency brake on. should i get it done or chance it. will cost me 800 bucks here but in SC have people that can do it for the parts bout 200 bucks. but dont wanna break down along the way. Any advice?

..

Driving at max power will be hard on the clutch. In hilly country drive using momentum... Gain extra speed on down hill grades so you don't need as much power going up hill. Don't lug the engine... Keep the RPM up and the power low!

Have a good one while you can still laugh about it.. Don S..

Friends get ready for this…

In the future all individuals will have to buy a large handful of 75 cent carbon credits every week. These carbon credits will be for sale in the Wall Street Commodities Futures Market and speculators will be driving the price up to $4.00 per credit!!!

Why didn't they do the clutch when the trans was out????$800 sounds like a lot for a 4 hour job that can actually be done in under 2 hrs, but that's flat rate for ya.
