Hello everyone let me tell you my problem and hopefully you guys/gals might be able to help me.

I was moving last week and had my son take some things out to my truck. He used my key fob to lock the truck back up, but then proceeded to lose my keys.
My windows were down about 3 inches so I reached in to unlock the doors and the alarm went off. After about a minute the alarm stopped honking. I had to continue putting stuff in my truck and the alarm went off a few more times. Since everything was packed up, I went to the local Nissan dealership and had a new key made.

Now when I opened the truck, the alarm doesnt go off, I put the key in, everything comes on, but the truck wont start. I went back to the dealership and they just told me "yea your truck is messed up, probly have an electrical problem"
I seriously doubt that my truck would just stop working all of a sudden, is there a security thing going on here hat I dont know about?

Ishinusmc:

Welcome to the group!...

Something like this happened to me. but I didn't lose the key.

When the truck was locked from the out side and then unlocked from the in side you should have relocked it from the in side even leaving the widow down. If (i know you didn't have the key, but...) it could have been unlocked again from the out side and the system put back in proper phase.

The alarm went off because it was unlocked out of phase. If locked from the out side it needs to be unlocked from the out side. At this late date you might try locking from the in side then unlocking on the out side.

Have a good one while you can still laugh about it.. Don S..

What year is the truck??? Little info helps a lot!!! The security system is in the armed mode, like lakota mentioned it needs to be unlocked from the outside to disarm it. If it is a programmable key, it needs to be programmed to the vehicle.
