Wassup all I got an issue with my reverse lights they don't work.  I just noticed it the other day.  Here's what I did as far as troubleshooting.  I put in 2 new bulbs, checked fuses and even tested if there was any power reaching the bulb sockets.  There's no power in there.  I checked wiring as far as I can see everything looks ok.  ANybody know what the problem could be?

..

surfahjammer:

You might try cleaning the sockets and all wire connectons. The salt in the ocean air can cause corrosion. Good luck!

Have a good one while you can still laugh about it.. Don S..

I used to be quite indecisive but maybe now days I’m not so sure!

Could be the switch that is activated when you put the truck into reverse.  Not sure where this is but they do fail.

Thanks Boomer anybody know where this switch is and what's it called.  If I find it maybe I can test it with a multimeter to see if it's sending out any juice.

It's on the trans -depending on 2 or 4 wd. turn your key on-unplug the switch on the trans -see if the lites come on. try each switch till you find the b-up switch.

Thanks frontierguy it's a 2wd.  Anyone know specifically where it is on the trans?  So if I put the truck in reverse, turn the ignition on and unplug the wires to the switch you're saying the reverse lights should come on?

Had a brain fart. Turn the key on - unplug the switch- jump the wires together at the harness side of the connector. Does not need to be in reverse. You are by-passing the switch.

< =text/>_popupControl(); Howzit all.  I finally got to checking out my reverse switch.  I unplugged it and jumped it.  And yip my reverse lights went on.  So I guess my switch is bad.  I'm picking up a new switch tomorrow.  Anybody got any special tips on installing the new switch?  Thanks ahead all.
