i broke the plastic piece on the ring snap in the free running hub on my 2000 frontier 4X4 V6. i can put the ring snap back on with out the plastic piece but can i drive without the plastic piece on there? Really need help on this because i am borrowing a car right now until i get confirmation on if i can drive my own truck with out this piece or not.

Im only guessing!  If the wheel rotates without the half shaft rotating and it sounds ok it might not do any damage. Check for for over heating in the hub. If it's hotter than the other side in a mile or three it is not a good sign!

If the wheel falls off... it may not be a good sign! Stop and pick it up...

Remember,  Im only guessing! Someone alse might know.

so this shouldnt be a big deal for now??? i know you're guessing but the only thing that this plasitc piece looks like it does it keep the spring in a more round shape.
