I have a 2003 Frontier XE with 15in rims and currently running 265-75-R15 wich is bone stock! I was wondering if anyone else new what the largest tire I could run would be without worrying about rubbing. I was thinking 31x10.50 R15??

I run BFG ATs 31x10.50x 15. You can get a good deal at Costco. I cranked the torsion bars for a 5/8th inch lift in front and one inch lift blocks from Pep Boys in the rear. You need more clearance for the rear when off-roading a pick up truck. I removed the bumper for even more clearance and assembled a class three hitch to help protect the rear sheet metal. It's been on many Colorado 4x4 mountain trails including Black Bear.

Have a good one… or two… Don S..

Thats a good looking truck. Im not so much looking for bigger tires for offroading..its just that the 265-75's look wimpy..looking for a more complimentary stance its a rugged looking truck by design but the tires bring it down a notch!

One more thing I was wondering as well..i have heard alot about torsion bars, did it change the ride much of your truck? I like the way it rides as it is!

I couldn't tell any differents in the ride and that is why I only cranked 5/8 th inch. If you ever buy new front shocks be sure to get extra heavy duty.

The more narle a tire looks the more noise it will make... inside and out.

I buy BFG at's for the tri-guard sidewalls. It pays off when you do big sharp rocks. They are pretty good in the rain. Rocks rule... mud sucks!

It’s easy to adjust the T-Bars. Bounce the truck to level it on a level surface. Measure vertically from the ground to the fender lip above the front wheels for a later reference. Chock the rear wheels so the truck can’t move. I forget if I jacked the font end up or not… it was over ten years ago.

At the rear of the T-Bar there is a nut & cam that adjusts the bar… there is also a nut that locks the adjustment. Crawl under and you’ll see them. The small adjustment on mine didn't upset the alighnment.

Have a good one while you can still laugh about it.. Don S..
The Internet is like the government in Wastington D.C.. (you got! I spelled it correctly).... where stupidity runs rampant!

I have an 01 XE with 31x10.5's on 15x10 rims.  At stock ride height there was rubbing but after cranking up the torsion bars almost all the way no rubbing occurs.  I think 31x10.5's on stock rims might work without having to crank up the torsion bars.  Good luck.
