New to the board.
2001 3.3L Desert Runner/5 speed manual 188k miles
Driven til it quit. I'm pretty sure the timing chain broke, and it won't turn over now (starter just clicks).
I'd like to replace the engine/tranny for my son's 16th birthday coming up. Does anyone know of a small block V8 drop in solution? I'm not particular on chevy v. ford.
Thanks in advance.

Nothing will just "drop in". Timing "Belt" replacement would be your best bet providing the engine has been serviced regularly. Did you try to turn it over with a breaker bar on the crankshaft pulley bolt? (1-1/16 socket)
