I have a 2000 Nissan Frontier, 4x4, V6 that is showing a ABS light.   I had a shop attempt to read the code, but the machine returned a "No signal" reading.

HELP!!! Any suggestions on repair/diagnosis of this light?

Thanks!

No, I went to a "on the corner" shop, that had a code reader.   Is this light a "Nissan only" read code?

You need a Nissan scan tool or know how to retrieve the codes by grounding a certain wire on the DLC.

I had the same problem... same exact truck, same year. Then my anti-lock
breaks started kicking in on random stops. It would be a dry, smooth road
and when I went to use my breaks they would kick in and you would get the
rumble. It stopped after a while and I never had a problem again. I would
like to know why it started happening though if you find out.

It is usually due to rust build-up between one of the sensors and the hub, creating too large of an air gap or a split or damaged tone ring. The codes need to be read while the light is on after driving and do not shut off the engine.
