hey, i just got my new to me 98 nissan frontier 4x4, 5 speed, ext cab and it has 2 issues.  first the check engine light is on and i am getting code 0446 evap system vent control circuit.  from what i can understand that means the vent bolted to the charcoal canister is not working or rather not closing at key turn to pressurize the system so other things can be checked.  so for me to kinda bypass that i used a set of vice grips and clamped the line coming to the valve closed and it had no effect.  i was grasping at straws.  the issue is i cant take the valve off the charcoal canister, the bolts are rusted (welcome to canadian winters) and are only spinning in the plastic, not coming out.  is there any other way to help me diagnose that i need a new valve (and charcoal canister since im going to end up breaking something to get it out) before i shell out for one to find out its something else in the system?  i do have a code reader and it was throwing a code 1440 i believe as well, but after clearing the codes it only comes back with the 446 for now.  and because of this, it makes the truck run a little rich because its got the cel on. 

also, my abs light is on, how do i figure out what the abs code is or find out what the issue is?
