I've got 170,000+ miles on my Nissan Frontier 2002 Crew Cab
Supercharged. Timing belt went out as the truck was idling.
Wondering if its worth the 1000 bucks to replace the belt
if the valves are possibly shot as well. Any input is
greatly appreciated!

If someone is charging $1K to do that job, I'm doing
something very wrong!! #1 most likely the valves are OK. #2
it is a 5.5 hr job for the TB-WP-cam seals-fr crank seal-
tensioner. Someone is getting into your shorts big time!

I'd go to another shop to get another quote.$1000 is a
little steep. The parts can't be THAT expensive.

Just out of curiosity, what is the recommended service interval for the timing belt?

105K, although I have replaced them with 80K due to
rattle(loose) concern.
