Hey guys, new to the Nissan forum and new to Nissan's in general. I just got
a 2011 Frontier and bought factory step rails from the parts at the Nissan
dealership. I got home to install them and the direction say I need to weld,
but the dealership says they have never done that. I have triple checked the
part number and it is the right one. I was wondering if anyone has put these
on and could offer advice or send me a video to help.
Thanks in advance

No welding involved if they are indeed Genuine Nissan step
rails. Does it indicate Nissan on the box or
instructions????

I agree, even on some cardboards, there are seals or signings of "Genuine Nissan Parts or Accessories".

Try this, go back to the dealer, and look at truck on the lot and see how they are installed.
I belive there are threaded holes on the frame

There are studs on the truck that the step rail brackets
are attached to, then the rails are bolted to the brackets.

I put step rails on an 08 xterra that I bought from parts
counter at the dealer. Took em home and bolted them on
and was done in 15 mins. Just bolt the 90° brackets
underneath to the studs on the frame and put the rails on
them and tighten the bolts underneath to secure them. Very
easy add on that gives function and a good look to the
vehicle.

Exactly what Frontier1 stated: I just installed my step-rails two days ago. I purchased a 2011 CrewCab SV,,,I worked the step-rails in with the deal. They had to pull them from the Parts/Accessory area. It was getting late and they were going to install them the next day. I told them to strap them in the bed and I will install them when I arrived home.
1. Mount the "left side" (Drivers side) brackets to matching frame studs, then attach the actual step rail to the bracket.
2. Repeat "right side" (Pass side).
The kit should contain both step-rails, the nuts to mount brackets and the bolts to attach step-rails to brackets. Each bracket is labeled "left side" and "right side".
