I brought my 06 frontier to a garage for repair since my AC is not working properly. I said not working properly because if you turn it ON to 1 you can hear the compressor engage and the switch on the dash is lit but if you turn it to 2,3 or 4 the light on the switch doesn't lit. you could feel the air blowing but not cold air. the mechanic thought it was just freon but when he charge it up he said the pressure was too high. I'm reading some of the blogs, is this problem related to thermal control amp too?

Does the blower work on all speeds? Most likely the concern
is with the intake air temp sensor, but it also sounds like
the blower resister is faulty. IS the air cold on #1 speed
setting?

On #1 it runs cold but the blower does not blow. On 2,3 and 4 the blower blows but does not blow cold air and it seems like the A/C shuts off and the lights turns off as well. If it's the blower resister, how do I replaced it and where is it located? Thanks for the immediate reply.

It is located near the blower motor on the bottom of the
housing.

I replaced the resistor and speed/switch #1-4 is now working properly except that I'm not having cold air. Is it possible that any valve is clogged? From what I remember, I was told by the mechanic that my pressure on the low side was way low but my highside pressure was above 400, honestly I don't know how to translate that.

Has anyone added freon? If so, it needs to be recovered,
evacuated and the proper amount installed. The back to the
intake air temp sensor as mentioned previously.
