Hello I have a 2000 crew cab v6 xe, and about a month ago it started bucking around 1500 to 2500 RPM.  It threw no codes, but I took it into the shop because I knew I had a bad knock sensor.  Once there of course the code reader said “bad knock sensor” they replaced it and I had them do a tune up: spark plugs, distributor, distributor cap, and wires.  Everything seemed fine until I was on the highway and it started up and eventual sent a code.  This time it was saying that there was a problem with the crank sensor, but when I got it in the shop they could not find anything wrong.  I am running a K&N and I have cleaned my MAF, I have also cleaned my valve body.  The rough idle is still there but the bucking is hit and miss I also have noticed what seems to be a lack in power. Do you have any idea what it could be??

1st: get rid of the K+N
2nd: The parts that were replaced, did they use Nissan or
after market parts???? It sounds like a plug wire shorting
to ground.

1st:  Ok

2nd: I don't see anything that says Nissan on them and I’m 99% sure they are aftermarket.

I am taking it to a guy who was a Nissan mechanic for 20+ years before starting his own garage.  I make sure he checks that.

Thank you.

Keep us posted on how you make out. Have the EGR valve
checked for sticking open slightly.
