Ok this has been a big ordeal for me, i'm trying to come here to get answers.
I bought a 2001 frontier from a guy who ripped out the SES light in the dash instrument panel. In trying to fix the light (to pass inspection), I went to the dealership who said I either have to buy a new dash / instument panel or try to re-solder a bulb on the old panel.
I found a new dash panel for much cheaper than the dealership so I got it. When putting the new dash panel in, the SES light still doesn't come on!!! What else can I check? The light doesn't come on when i turn to the ON position.
I checked fuses and don't see any that look wrong... but I'm not sure on that. Also, the new dash has the wrong mileage!!! Is there anyway to reprogram this new dash without sending it off to nissan (take 5 business days they said, plus cost money)?

The lite is controlled by the ECU, if the bulb, wiring,
fuses are all OK, possible ECU??????
