hello,

I have a Frontier 2002, currently my vehicle cuts out on me. while im driving or the vehicle is sitting while sitting in one place. the vehicle will cut out.

This happens more frequently when the weather is warmer say around 65 and above. Once it stops, I have to wait for about an hour or so for the vehicle to start up again.

I have so far replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, the relay.

When its connected to a diagnostic computer the code for the nock chip appears only when the check engine light is on.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be the problem with my vehicle, oh a side note Nissan has even looked at my vehicle they had it for a week and could not figure it out.

I would appreciate any help i could get.

How many miles? V-6 ???? Possible distributor is failing.

miles: 170,000 but Nissan stated they thought it was the distributor but when they inserted the new distributor the vehicle proceeded kept shutting down. so Nissan put back the old distributor then they said the checked the relay but that was not it.

..

It would appear something is getting hot causing the shut down. It sure sounds like a vapor-lock. Though probably not a V-lock it wouldn't hurt to check the fuel pressure while not running. Check the fuel lines. Move or insulate were they come close the hot spots.

Check the heat sending unit. Check coolant levels and Fan clutch. It's possible an electrical connection is parting when the wire looms get hot. Clean all ground connections.

Good luck!! Don S..

not it is in a salt state. It came out sometime in '04
