Hi folks,
I am needing some your expert thoughts or ideas on my issue. My Frontier engine runs cold barely clearing the "C" on the temp gauge with little to no heat in the cabin. Coolant in radiator and overflow is full. The only time I have seen the needle climb into the mid-range is during a long hill climb with the overdrive off or sitting in rush hour traffic. My drive to work is 30 mins and includes this hill. I start to get warm air as I climb this hill but as I crest and go downhill, the air turns cold again. The top hose is warm to the touch not too hot and the lower hose is pretty much cold.
I am leaning toward replacing the thermostat, but I see there is a 180 degree and 170 degree version. Which one is the right one and why would 10 degrees make a difference?
Thanks in advance for your feedback
