i own a 2007 frontier nismo 4x4 auto 4.0 litre v6

occasionally after truck has sat say overnight and the temperature drops below maybe -25 degrees celcius

the truck will have a fast strong crank, but will not catch and fire up!  the other day i tried boosting it even though i am pretty sure my battery is ok!~  at first no luck with boost but then with a boost still hooked up i hoped into my truck and wiggled the gear shifter making sure that park switch was being met and i cycled my key off and on approx 2-4 times before going to start truck . it started right up for me let ir run for say 5 minutes then shut it off and tried to start it agian it started up fine after.   it did seem to rev a little bit higher then normal after i got it started the first time for what seemed like longer than usual. i am not 100% sure but i think my gas milage is a little bit worse than normal now too>

does thgis sound like a bad fuel pressure regulator??

i have already had the fuel pump replaced and i have a new ipdm e/r

someone plz help me!

Very possible. Not sure if it is available as a serviceable
part, Versa and Sentra are available. Was the pump replaced
or just the fuel level sensor? At least you are getting a
grip on why it is not starting.

false alarm   tried cycling key again didnt work

hooked up a boost.. fired rite up

man this sucks

had in in at dealership over the hoidays again cant recreat problem cant find anything wrong!

i think my ecm module is the culprit.

when its really cold out its almost like it gets a slightly higher resistance   which needs an extra boost of voltage to work properly.

nothing seems to be drawing my battery down after a long cold soak it cranks strong. just maybe not quite enough voltage to communicate properly with ecm???

help me someone please

..

When and if all else fails!

Back in the mid 1950's A friend had an Oldsmobile that had starting problems. In those days cars had 6 volt battery systems. The battery was replaced with an 8 volt battery and no other changes. This fixed the starting problem. All the lights burned brighter which means they will burn out sooner but it wasn't... in his case... a problem. Maby a 16 volt battery could be installed with an isolaton switch and only used when needed. Most electrical devices are designed to handle up to 50% more voltage than in normal use.

I'm not recomending this action... I'm just sayin'.... Good Luck.. Don S..
