Hey guys. Im a new frontier owner. I have a 98 frontier 4x4. It's
making a high pitch squeal noise just when I accelerate pretty fast
and when I press the pedal more then 30% on the highway. Took it
into a mechanic to have the belts checked and he changed 2 belts
but noise is exactly the same.

Are they genuine Nissan belts? If I recall, there are 3
belts on that model.

I don't know if they are or not but I don't think a new belt would
respond the exact same way as the old ones if it was a belt
problem.

..

Look at the belts.. they should have a name and number on them.  Do the 4 bangers have an idler pully? A bad bearing can squeal as they start to go bad.

Good Luck Don S..

I know on mine the first squeal was coming from a bad bearing on the water pump. And the second squeal was the bearing on the alternator. After i replaced this the squeal stopped. But check all your pulleys and try to find the bad one, that is usually the case.
