Hello, I recall when using the defroster the AC would kick in and the light on the AC switch would come on. Lately, it does not come on. Defroster blower works and blows warm air per the temperature setting and works fine, just no AC. Is this an issue?

Can you verify if the compressor is /or is not engaging? If
the ambient temp is real low, the comp may not engage.
