Hi, just looking for some suggestions. I recently had
some issues with my truck. I had jerky acceleration on the
highway, but if I kept speeds low, it would work. I
cleaned the MAF sensor, that seemed to work for a few days,
then I noticed that the engine temperature gauge was not
stopping mid-way, but went all the way past the top of the
gauge, and the only way to drive was to keep RPM below
2000.

I'm not sure this is related to the MAF, but don't want to
replace it if that won't solve the problem.

Hello,
I am assuming the RAD is topped off? Any chance the RAD is not working efficiently? My 94 Pathfinder RAD lasted 12 years, and I noticed it would over heat when climbing hills.. and was fine around town.

I did also find that using the heater would make it not get so hot.

Just a thought.
Thanks,

..

You may have interrupted current flow it some other electric connector.

You need to ascertain if you have a heat related problem. Does the truck run a little better before it warms up? Look for a bad thermostat, water pump, collapsing intake hose or plugged up passageways in the radiator. Buy an inexpensive laser heat detector. Check the two radiator hoses, the out put hose should show a pretty good temperature drop. The input hose should not be much over 200 degrees.

How old are the spark plugs? The injectors could be fouled and the engine with heavy carbon deposits. You might try a Sea-foam treatment.

Good Luck.. Don S..
