Hi im new to the forum. can anyone tell me what the black
box on the inside of the windshield just above the mirror
is. Thanks

Hi Dave...
Mine has an area that has little black dots in the middle of the front windshield. It is so you can look in the rear view mirror and not be blinded by a glare coming from behind it.
In Texas it's legal to ad a darkened strip four inches from the top of the windshield which I've also done

Mine has the dots as well, the box doesnt seem to have any
wiring or anything like that, Thanks Don
