I'm having a problem trying to fill my Frontier with Gas!

 | I start to fill in 5 sec the fill lock kicks out and gas
shoots out of the fill pipe.
I took the Frontier to a dealership and they tell me it
will cost over $1,200.00 to fix! Sounds fishy to me. Any
 suggestions?

 Doug,

You don't say anything about your Frontier ie Year,
Model, Engine, Mileage, etc? You should put the
information in Your Signature so it help's other's to
know what you have without asking.

Nissan issued a TSB on this subject that covered
certain year's. I got the notice for my '13 SVV6
Frontier by mail and a sticker to put on my Warranty
 Book.

At the bottom of the sticker is N-Evap-17.
I don't know if this is the TSB #, but you should call
Nissan Consumer Affair's to see if your Frontier is
covered. They will ask for the VIN # so go ahead and
have that handy when you call them.

The Sticker extends the warranty on this to 15 year's
 or 150K Mile's whichever come's First.

Hopefully Your Frontier will be covered by the extended
warranty. But My Advise is to call Nissan Consumer
Affair's when they open up Monday Morning.

 Good Luck,

 | see who might respond.
The year is 2016, model SV 4X4 Crew cab and my mileage is
a meager 35,000+. I'm in conversations with Nissan
Consumer Affairs and they are supposed to respond this
coming week. (My warranty I'm told ran out of time on Jan
 4th 2020!)
What is a TSB? If I understand your comments you had a
problem and they went off the books and issued you a
warranty for 15 years and 150,000 miles?

 Thanks Doug

 Doug,

A TSB is a Technical Service Bulletin.

No I haven't had the Fueling Problem "YET", but Several
other Nissan Frontier Owner's have had a Fueling
Problem like you're haveing.   Nissan issued a TSB and
an Extended Warranty for the Fueling Problem to 15
 year's or 150K Mile's whichever occur's 1st. Several
Frontier Owner's have gotten this Notice in the Mail
 from Nissan USA.

I'm thinking that Your '16 Frontier will probably be
covered for this. If you didn't Purchase Your Frontier
Brand New, or if you changed address's, that might be
why you didn't get the Notice from Nissan with the
Extended Warranty ~ Just a guess on my part on that
 though.

 Something doesn't seem right in your situation though;
Was your Truck in an Accident and had damage on the Gas
Tank Side? The TSB's were sent out month's ago, and
Nissan Consumer Affair's should have picked right up on
 your situation.

If All is Straight Up,, I'm thinking that Nissan will
 take care of you though.

 Good Luck,

 | Consumer Affairs kept putting me off saying they could not
get a response from the dealership and yesterday they
finally called and the answer was they can't help me! No
other explanation just that the warranty had run out and
 tough s--t!
I've got some ideas but I can't repeat them on line. I did
review the TSB and its the exact problem.
Have any suggestions? Do you know if their is another
level in the Nissan org. that I can talk to?

 Hey Doug,

Maybe they saw some damage to the Gas Tank, fron an
accident, off roading, or going over some type of
object that did some damage underneath is the only
thing that I can think of.

The Vapor Vent Tube that connect's the fuel tank to the
evaporative emission canister, has an Extended Warranty
 for 15 year's or 150K mile's whichever occur's 1st.

The extended warranty is N-EVAP-17 .

Nissan sent me a letter with a Sticker to put on my
 Warranty Booklet.

What did they tell you about the Extended Warranty?

Again something just doesn't sound right to me.

Have you done Modification to your Truck Like Engine
Intake, Exhaust, or some type of Modification that
Nissan or the Dealership is useing to Void the Extended
Warranty? Have you been doing OffRoading like in the
Mud, Water, Really Rough Road's or Terrain, that they
 say was abuseing the Truck?

Because the Frontier's are the Cheapest New Truck,,
Some People buy these with the intent on Abuseing them.
Nissan is Keen to this and take's a Dim View when a
Warranty is involved. Not saying this is the case,
 just saying.

You might try a Different DealerShip or talk with the
Service Manager to see what he has to say about this
issue. With the Extended Warranty, IMO there has to be
some other reason for rejecting the extended warranty.

Hope you get this issue resolved,
 Regards,
