Welcome Jim,

If the Battery Terminal's are corroded, use bakeing
soda & Water Solution with an old toothbrush to clean
the corrosion off. Then use water hose on low pressure
to wash battery off and rinse the area's below battery
that the corrosion may have gotten on. With the
terminal End's connected put a Thick coating of Grease
over the bare metal surface's with a clean wooden
stick.

If the Terminal's were clean to begin with, with the
Cable end's connected to the terminal's coat the bare
metal surface's with a thick coating of grease to
prevent corrosion.

Corroded Battery Terminal's if left unchecked will lead
to a repair than can get Expensive.

I need to learn all the little ins and outs of this thing.  I noticed they were dirty.  The dealer cleaned them up, but I like to raise the hood and check things as often as possible.

Pacer,

That's Good that the Dealer Cleaned the Corrosion off
of the Battery Terminal's. They know what can happen
if/when the Corrosion causes a Spike that can damage
the Computer Module. Those Module's aren't cheap.

The Terminal's will start to corrode again though,
unless this problem is addressed. This is the Best
time to put a Thick Layer of Grease on the Terminal's
with the Cable's connected.

I save those Wooden Stick's from the WalMart CornDog's
for spreading the Grease in a uniform manner. I clean
the Wooden Stick's off with water and let them dry
before putting them out in the Garage. When it's time
to disconnect the Cable's just use 2 to 4 paper towel's
to wipe the Grease off.

It's good that you pop the hood to keep a check on
thing's; We never know when something unusual can
happen and unless we pop the hood we don't know until
something bad happen's, then it's Side of The Road and
Waiting on the Wrecker.

Many people never Pop the Hood, Go Merryly on their Way
until the Motor Quit's, They see Smoke or Steam comeing
from under the Hood. It take's them a While to Figure
out how to open the Hood and if on Fire the Car Burn's
Up cause they didn't have a Fire Extenquisher in the
Truck. Be Proactive and don't be like those that Never
Pop the hood.

Thanks.  The dealer did a service for me with all full synthetic Mobile 1, filter changes, etc. 

I appears terminals are a nagging problem with these guys.  Got to see if I have the grease, I use dielectric grease for a lot of stuff, so I got one more thing.  Thanks again.

Pacer,

Battery Terminal Corrosion will happen with any
Lead/Acid Flooded Battery. Dielectric Grease will do,,
but Coating the Terminal's with the Cable's Connected
there isn't any Electrical Conductivity Involved.

So over the year's I have found that Regular
Multipurpose #2 Grease with the added supplement to
resist water is the best that I know of. I have used
Dielectric Grease too,, but found that it doesn't stay
on as long as the Multipurpose Water Resistant Grease.

I didn't learn about the Grease preventing Battery
terminal Corrosion until I was about 32 years old. I'm
now 70 and I drove a '93 Nissan Hardbody for 20 year's
and never had Battery Terminal corrosion. I've got a
32 yo Lawn mower that has never had Battery Terminal
corrosion. It was the 1st thing that I did when I got
the new '13 Frontier Home.

I just put a New Champion AGM Battery in the Frontier.
After install, it's the 1st thing I did. I've heard
that AGM's don't corrode as easy, but I hate Battery
Corrosion and didn't want to take a chance. When it
come's time for a New Batry be sure to check out
PepBoy's Price online. They had 25% off and Free
Shipping to my house online purchase.

Just remember not to use anything Metal to put the
grease on,, as it might fall or accidentally make
contact with the Positive to Ground and cause a Short
which might cause a Repair, which is what we are trying
to prevent to begin with.

I do my own Routine Preventative Maintenance as much as
I can. At 12K mile's I switched to Castrol 5w30 Full
Synthetic Magnatec. Here's a Video that you might like

Thanks again.  I try to do my own stuff too.  I am trying to make sure of the rear end I have.  I believe a C200.  Mine is  4x4 with an AT.

Pacer,

I've been told that the Sticker on the Driver's Door
give's that info. If not then a quick call to Nissan
Consumer Affair's with the Vin # and they can tell you
which rear end you have.

WalMart has the Best price that I know of for Synthetic
Gear Oil either 80w90 or 75w140 whichever your's take's
according to the Owner's Manual Specification's.

I have an SV AT 4X2 with the C200 Rear End. I got my
Nissan Service Manual from these Folk's for 10 $'s:

There are also site's that have access to the Nissan
Manual for Free, but We can't copy into a Desktop
Folder and Make our own Hardcopy. Purchaseing from
Reliable-Store is the best way that I know of to have
my own Nissan Service Manual Copy.

The Service Manual will give you the Special Procedure
for Checking the ATF Level. To check the ATF Level
Properly without guessing require's some method to know
what the ATF Temperature is. It is supposed to be
checked @ 149F Degree's, along with moveing the Gear
Shifter through all the Gear's to load them up with
ATF. Be sure to follow the Special Procedure to the
letter so that you don't overfill or underfill the ATF.

I recently purchased a Scangauge II from Amazon that
will display the ATF Temperature in Real Time. There
are 2 Temperature Sensor's on our Truck's Temp #1 and
Temp #2. I'm pretty sure that the Temp #1 is the ATF
Sump and #2 is the ATF Temp in the Torque converter.

The Nissan Service Manual say's to use Temp #1 to check
the ATF Level.

The Scangauge II cost more than I wanted to spend,, but
it is the cheapest Real Time ATF Temperature Display
that I know of. The Scangauge II plug's into the OBD
II Port, and I have the Small Gauge Display mounted in
the DashBoard Top Tray useing Velcro that I purchased @
Walmart.

Found no one really makes a service manual yet.  I have all the owners manuals, etc.

I just have to wait and keep looking.

I have always purchased shop manuals for all my vehicles so I can repair or maintain them.

Seller Say's TELL WHAT YEAR YOUR FRONTIER IS so he can
send you the correct manual. He state's that he has 4
left, so I wouldn't doddle. A little bit more than I
paid back in 2013, but not enough to bicker over.

You have 14 day's to return it, but I'm pretty sure
this is it and it's allready on a CD Rom!

I don't think much has changed, as far as
specification's, since the Frontier Gen II's came out
in 2005 till 2019. We don't know what will happen for
the 2020's yet. Some say this and some say that.
We'll know when the 2020's hit the Dealer's.

My 2013 Nissan Factory Service Manual complete is about
107MB, so that should give you an idea if the Service
Manual they are selling is close to complete. If it is
more than 107MB then that's even better IMO.

If it were me getting a Nissan Factory Service Manual,
for my '13, I would chance the EBay Listing knowing I
could send it back if I needed to.
