Does any one else find it ironic that Mitsu has the nerve to compare their Tacoma look-alike truck to the Frontier in the TV Spots. Yeah it has a V8, but its only 230hp. The Fronty that they show in the ad has 265hp, my weezy VG33de Supercharged and the cold air intake has what that Raider has. Does anyone know if  Mitsu is building their own motor? My wife use to have a 4 banger Eclipse and that thing blew two head gaskets before 55k. They also claim they have the only V8 in the Mid size truck class, What about the Dodge Dakota?

I would never by Mitsu. Sorry but it irks me that they use a Frontier that has more power with its V6 then their V8. Thats my Rant.

Ok so I am going to rant some more, they claim(mitsu) that they have that most torque for a import truck at 290 foot pounds, compared to the Fronty with 286 foot pounds.

They also claim they have the most towing capsity for a midsize import at 6500lbs, compared to the Fronty's 6500lbs.

After doing some research on this truck found out it is based on the Dodge Dakota, built side by side with the Dakota in Michigan.

All it is... is a sign that Mitsu is getting desperate.  The new eclipse, the new lancer wagons, this new POS.  Mitsu is losing the race, and they know it.  The Evo didn't do as well as they expected... considering Subaru came out and stole their thunder.

The mitsu raider is just a Dakota in disguise...they are just like Honda...they took a shot in the dark and missed!! Their truck will never beat the Frontier!

first off... i wouldnt want a mitsu truck to begin with.... just like honda with there highlander or what ever its called... that rigeline that it could never climb to... with its 4wd... that is i believe only when it needs it, and has no low range... its just hondas efforts at making an avalanche not realy a truck. but a cat dog hybrid suv transport vehical. the dodge/ mitsu truck is only an upgrade for the v8, and its power cant even match the 4.0 fronty. the only braging they can do is say, it comes with a v8 but thats it. even as highmile sc said, your vg33er will not only make the same power, but is capable of more than that... you could be getting in the 300's at the wheels, with out alot of work and have it still be more reliable than that v8... just the name dodge is enough to warn you... dodge it... it will be your best decition.

They have been trying to blow out the Mitsu trucks around here, $18,988, for a crew cab V-6, with everything but 4WD on the options list. I went over to look at them before buying my new SE King Cab.

Build quality sucketh mightily, the seat cloth looked like it came from a set of cheap speakers, and it was loaded with cheap plastic everywhere. The Nissan has a lot of plastic, but it's better grade.......... and the seats are top quality gear. I've never liked the Dakotas, especially the looks of the last few years (the Mini Kenworth look), the Mitsu is just uglier yet. The dealer here in town had 50 or so to get rid of, and I've only seen ONE on the road. The ad still runs in the paper every week, too. They are having a hard time selling those things.
