I just bought a 99 frontier v6 4wd and Im getting a knock sensor malfunction code and system to rich! Would this be a knock sensor problem or do I need to look somewhere else?

Have you checked out the air intake filter yet. I've seen them choke down an engine.

Have a 2000 frontier and get a anti knock sensor code. Is this a common problem?  What has to be done to correct this problem?

The knock sensor will not trip the CEL by itsself most people just ignore it unless you have the SC motor then you must replace it. An FYI I have replaced it I was doing other work at the same time noticed no differance in performance by replacing it its located under the lower intake manifold passenger side back corner a real PITA another option is if you really want to replace it is to relocate it that means getting a new sensor and a nissan maxima wiring harnesss and adapting it to work with your connectors not hard to do just time consuming.
