I'll probably get yelled at... we do have a link section.  But it's always easier (and less of a headache this way)  Anywho... 4x4 parts listing

(If you find any other listings... PM me and I will add them to the listings)

..

joguy22;

... Welcome to our Frontier site.

Are you asking about a kit to convert a two wheel drive to a 4x4?

Unless you are going to convert to a rigid front axle like the Dana 44f as used in 80 to 91 Wagoneers it is a smart move to just trade for a 4x4.

Have a good one    and  CUL.. Don S..

joguy22;

The conversion from two to four wheel drive will require,... if you do it yourself:

1. Mechanical talent

2. Expensive tools

3. A donor vehicle or two for transfer case, drive shafts, front axle, differential, springs/bars, and other assorted sundries.

4. Research

5. A couple of grand

6. And then you will want to lift it and buy larger wheels, tires, re-gear it and get ‘mo‘ power.

If a shop were to do the conversion it might cost your arm and middle leg!

Or you could trade your ‘98 in on a ‘99 4x4 like mine for a couple of grand.

The fun of 4x4’ing is the challenge of going were you want to go. My nearly stock 4x4’s get me over the Colorado mountain trails that actually go somewhere and is only a mild challenge. If I build my 4x4‘s tougher then I‘ll have to find trails that are more difficult. There are a few diehard two wheel drivers out there having some fun but they are often stuck and in the way.

If you are doing long steep mountain trails a transfer case with a low range is a necessity so you won’t burn up the brakes on downhill runs.

Have a good one   and  CUL.. Don S..

At home I’m the House Minority Leader

There are no Expensive tools required to do a conversion if he has a Crew Cab or a Desert Runner its a straight up bolt on thing. Now if he has a 2WD plain jane then yes trade it in on a 4x4 it would be a lot of work then. SandBag over at www.nissan4wheelers.come did his 2Wd frontier took him a good while to do it a lot of Fab work.

If you want more information I can get you a parts list also some pictures of the conversion I did. Pm me if you like also we do have a local truck club in dallas its www.texasnissantrucks.com
