guys/gals, this is my first post, so if i posted in wrong location i apologise. but i see this is the modifications section. i own a 2000 frontier xe std cab 4cyl 5spd. im getting tired of having to shift constantly in my new job, ( i use vehicle as a courier type truck), and am looking at removing the 5spd and installing an auto. is this possible?, btw my truck is entirely stock. thank you for any and all help you send my way. anyhoo i look fwd to your replies

i mean would it be a hassle?, its a std cab truck . 4cyl. most of the autos were ext cab. btw i appreciate the help so far

it can be done. You need a donor trans, a flexplate(the flywheel is different for a standard), remove your pilot bearing, and you need a torque convertor. it would be easier if it was a tranny from the same year. that way all the plugs go back in. you may also need a new driveshaft for length and splines, but i don't think so. you could actually leave your clutch pedal and everything in but remove the oil so that if you push the pedal by mistake you dont blow out any fluid all over.
