Jim,

That's a Very Good thing that he took the Auto Mechanic
Shop in High School. That's Training that He'll alway's
be able to use in Real Life to keep his Vehicle's in Tip
Top Condition.

When I got out of High School I knew some basic's in
takeing care of a Car or Truck, and that was about it. I
started out on Motorcycle's that came with a Tool Kit.
That Tool Kit and the Owner's Manual really helped me a
lot to learn. I grew up on My Dad's Farm,, and that also
helped me learn how to use tool's, the importance of
Greaseing the Equipment, checking the Oil Level, and the
importance of keeping the Fuel and Gas Clean when
Refueling.

I learned a lot of thing's on the Farm,, that I just take
for granted today,, but many will never know or learn
about in today's environment.

It took me a long time to learn important Preventative
Maintenance knowledge though. It took me a long long time
to learn that the simple act of putting grease on the
Battery Terminal's will prevent Battery Terminal Corosion.
In my past Owner's Manual's it actually said to do that,
but it just took me a long long time to start putting that
simple advice to Practice.

So many thing's that it took me a long long time to put
into practice to help myself. It took me 68 year's to
learn that adding water to 2% milk, I could turn 1 gallon
into almost 2 gallon's, and still taste good.

It took me forever to figure out that Turning Higher
Engine RPM's than necessary would shorten the life of the
Engine.

If you can afford it, finance your Son enough Flight
Training Time to get a Sport Pilot's License. After he
get's that then he can earn a higher license on his own if
he want's to.

Stay Safe and Wear a Face Mask,
Regards,
