I am ready to go back in with the headliner but I would like to take the rearview mirror off before I attempt this "not so easy" task.

Does anyone have any information as to how to slip the mirror off of it's windshield mount?

Here is a pic and I know that the slot has something to do with the removal but ?what?

It requires a very thin blade screw driver to release the tab in the slot. It takes a little finesse to do this. Be very gentile.

I'll go give her a shot and see what happens - - - I assume that after you lift the tab, the mirror slides up and off??????

thanks for the info

Yes

I gave it a go yesterday but without any success so I'll try again after Thanksgiving. Just got too much in my bucket to think clearly at the moment. Thanks for your help and Happy Thanksgiving.
