Not sure if this is related to this forum, or, if perhaps someone already answered this.  I have an 03 Frontier 2.4L.  AC had been working great for months.  In fact, last night it was cold.  However, this morning, warm air.  With the AC switch on, I verified that it appears that the clutch on the front of the compressor is turning.  I ran it for about 15 minutes, and the clutch seemed to stay engaged, but, no cool air from the vents.  I called 2 Nissan dealers, who thought it might just be a bad clutch or the compressor.  They did not think it was the thermo amplifier, as this would cause the clutch to short cycle, not stay engaged all of the time... Does anyone have any other suggestions??  I would like to have a better idea before I change the compressor / clutch...

Thanks

If the clutch is engaging,it must be OK. It is best to get
some gauges on it to see what kind of pressure readings
you get.

Thank you for your reply.  This is what I keep thinking as well.  From my old days restoring cars, I remember that the compressor usually either turns, or, freezes up.  It is strange that the clutch appears to be engaging fine, but I have no cold air.  I also remember that if it is low on Freon, the low pressure cut off switch should stop the clutch, or, at least make it short cycle.  This one seems to run all the time.  Not sure if the Nissan ones are similar to the ones I learned on (Chrysler twin Cylinder), but, I believe the theory is the same.  Again, thanks for your advise, and I will have to take it to someone to get it looked at.  I no longer have my gagues due to moving...

could be a expansion valve but its best to get the gauges and check pressure first
