Some have a removable nipple on the pass side firewall at
the heater hose junction. At the shop, we use a vac. refill
tool to refill the system.

Thanks Frontierguy, looks like my 08 does not have a nipple by the heater hose junction.
Also, inspected my Nissan oil impregnated air filter it has 29K on it.. sure has gunk on the underside of it, it is in a row. The best way to describe the row is that it runs the length of the filter and is on the column of the filter closest to the engine. Looks like it starts where the air intake snorkel ends in the air cleaner box.

That normal?

There is also gunky residue on the on the inside bottom of the air filter box.

David

The line of dirt on the bottom of the filter is normal for
a Frontier and Titan(same filter). I usually flip mine once
then replace it the next time when both ends are dirty.
They should be replaced every 30K under normal conditions.
