A little back story:
I have a 2011 Frontier SV and about a week ago I plugged something into the 12V port on the dash under the audio port and the male end of the plug fell apart and blew a fuse on the truck. I pulled the dash fuse panel and literally pulled every fuse and they were all good so I was a little perplexed. Everything except that 12V port worked and I was in a bit of a hurry so I went on.

Fast forward to day before yesterday. I was driving on a dirt road near some remote land I own and slid off in the ditch. I reached down and kicked it into 4WD high and drove it on out and the other quarter mile to where I was going. I didn't think twice about it and parked the truck for the night. The next morning I went to go somewhere and the truck was flashing 4LO at me and sure enough it was stuck in 4LO, a position I had not put it in. I clicked the 4WD switch to every position and it would not come out of 4LO. I drove it at top speed (about 40MPH) to a nearby store and proceeded to look through all the fuses again. I had made the connection between the 2 events in my head. Well, this time I looked at the fuse box that's marked under the hood but it wasn't there either. Lo and Behold, there is another fuse box under the hood that had some relays in it too right next to the marked one (but unmarked as a fuse box) and the blown fuse for the 12V port was in there. I replaced that 20A fuse and drove it in reverse and back forward and that fixed my issue.

I only post this here because I find it highly unlikely that mine is the only one where two things are tied together electrically that are so radically different. If I had not mentally connected the blown cigarette lighter fuse and the 4WD getting stuck I may have been calling AAA!
