i'm a cheap bastard and cant afford good seats in my 00 se kingcab. the stock seats are such crap.  anyway my friend mike suggests we take them apart and remove some foam.  he did this in his miata, and the seats are sooo deep now they're like as good or better feeling than any kind of sport seat.

so we pull the seat covers off...there's barely an inch thick of foam in these damn seats, not enough to cut away. however, there are three springs in these seats.  i removed all three from my driver seat.  it is actually a bit more comfortable now and holds me in around turns a bit more than the seats did (or did not) in stock formation.

be forewarned if you try this.  i'm only 5'6" and i'm thinking it's possible that if you're any biggger than me that this "mod" might cause some discomfort.  the lack of springs in the seat means only the fabric and the steel bars around the outer portion of the seat are what's holding it together...i do feel a TINY bit of pressure from these bars, but it's not annoying.  it could possibly be for someone taller or wider than me.
