Hi-we have a 2007 Nissan Frontier and it was slow starting so my husband checked the battery today and noticed it was super corroded.  He was getting ready to replace the battery and was trying to remove the positive cable and the whole front half of the positive battery terminal broke off! It was so corroded that it just fell to pieces in his hand!
Anybody know if this would be covered under the warranty? And if not, anybody know how to fix it? He's a pretty handy guy so if we can get a hold of a new terminal he can probably put it back together but we have no idea where to get one.  He jerry rigged it a bit today and was able to get the electrical stuff to turn on like lights, etc, but the engine won't start.

Thank you ahead of time!

..

Welcome to the group!

Replacement clamps and replacement clamps complete with cables are availible from most automotive part retailers, wholesalers and on line companies like JC Whitney's. There are two sizes, positive (large) and negitive. If the battery is the one that the truck came with replace it as it's near ithe end of it's life span... mine lasted three years.

Have a good one while you can still laugh about it.. Don S..

Thanks lakota! Unfortunately I think the thing that we need to replace isn't just the clamp it's like the whole unit-it was a big plastic block as well as the clamps I believe.

Thanks all! Well, in order to get the dealership to look at it and decide whether it was covered or not we would have had to have the truck towed there which would've cost who knows how much! so instead we just bought the parts from Nissan and my hubby fixed it himself! This time we sprayed it down with battery protector though!
