I have noticed over the last few months that my 98 XE has
an issue with stalling and backfiring when the air is
really damp (i.e. after it rains or gets warm after a
snow and the snow is melting.) The problem goes away once
the truck heats up and has ran for about 10 minutes.

People have told me a multitude of things that could be
the problem and I am not sure which one to believe. I
have changed plugs, wires, and even the gas I was using
but nothing seems to be making it get better.

Thanks,

csagenlee

Have a distributor?  Look at the cap for cracks, carbon tracks or a poor seal to the base.  Next time it is damp AND dark, put up the hood and start the engine.  See any arcing?

I would get a genuine Nissan distributor cap and replace the one you have.

The distributors on this engine are known for ingesting
dirt and moisture. There is a re-designed distributor
available, but most remove the cap, remove the rotor,
remove the plate, clean and blow out with compressed air,
re-install the plate, install Genuine Nissan rotor and cap.
AS Boomer mentioned also, verify in the dark that no plug
wires are shorting to ground.

Could this kind of problem also be cause by a bad MAP
sensor?

Do you mean MAFS? Possible for the stalling. Are you using
a NISSAN oil impregnated air filter?

Update: replaced the distubutor cap and the problem went away.
Come to find out the points were all kinds of messed up and there
was a fairly large crack in it I couldn't see. Thanks for all the help.
